A Win for Everyone

This is the place for physical health and wellness on campus. It’s home to Gustie Athletics as well as the academic departments of Health and Exercise Science, Sport Management, and Masters in Athletic Training. The building holds our pool, hockey arena, gymnastics studio, basketball and volleyball courts, and workout facilities. It’s for bodies in motion—from championship hockey to light yoga before lunch. Go Gusties!

What’s Cool About It

An expansion in 2022 added 72,000 square feet. That includes two stories for weight training, and cardio equipment with sweeping views of Hollingsworth Field. The place sports new varsity locker rooms, a new office suite for coaches and staff, and a student lounge. (Lund is a very cool place to hang out.) Tens of thousands visit Lund every year for sporting events, athletic camps, tournaments, tours, and Commencement. And on any old Tuesday, you can take a TRX class taught by a Gustie, pick up a pickleball game, and hit the sauna after.

Gus Young Court

Gus Young Court is the home court for the Â鶹ÊÓƵ volleyball and men's and women's basketball teams. The seating capacity is 3,500, Gus Young Court has been host to many MIAC and NCAA Tournament games since it opened in November of 1985, and because of the great fan support it is considered one of the most difficult places for opponents to play.

A 25 yard by 25 meter pool with 10 lanes and a depth of 4.6 feet to 14.6 feet, including 1- and 3-meter diving boards. The pool has locker rooms and lifeguards on duty as well as a sauna and Jacuzzi. In addition to its use by athletic teams, the pool is used for swimming, aquatics, kayaking/canoeing, and other courses taught in the Health and Exercise Science department. The swimming pool and facilities are also available for recreational use by students, staff, faculty, and Â鶹ÊÓƵ families. The facility was named Vic Gustafson Pool in 2013 to honor Â鶹ÊÓƵ Hall of Fame coach who served as the swimming coach from 1945-77.
