Data is at the core of most organisations today, and successful businesses manage this data well.

We have many years' experience designing and running large database systems. We designed and manage the CarweB infrastructure - a database system that holds over 50 million records and runs 24/7, serving millions of requests every week at a response time of less than 100ms.

We use ASP.net, XML Web Services, AJAX, SQL Server Reporting Services and other related technologies to develop applications delivered to peoples' desktops through web browsers.

This means that users can securely access the database from anywhere, and managers can see live reports and statistics at any time of day or night.

Telemarketing Management System
We are in the final stages of developing a data cleansing system for a leading telemarketing company.

The web based database system allows telemarketers to be allocated client accounts to work through, recording details of their activity through a standard web browser.

We have been developing this system since November 2008, having spent some time working with the client to tie down the exact requirements.

We are now in final test - adding live data alongside their existing system - to prove the integrity of the new database system.

Social Networking Sites
We continue to develop our ability to program and maintain technically complex websites.

Having taken over the management of msiglobal.org in 2008, we released a major new social networking development in 2009. This allows members, predominantly lawyers and accountants, to form relationships and interact using groups, blogs and messaging.

Our second community site is dockwalk.com. We developed this using the Ektron CMS, an ASP.net content management system that allows complex content managed websites to be put together.

We were extremely pleased to win the Ektron Community Site of the Year for our groundbreaking work on this site.

Environmental Reporting Tool
Through our work with CarweB, we have gained a huge amount of experience working with and analysing vehicle data.

We have started work on a web based environmental reporting tool for a leading supplier of automotive finance solutions.

This will enable clients to track the environmental impact of vehicle fleets, and visually compare them to other fleets.

Tools will then be developed to help fleet managers plan how to reduce the environmental footprint, as well as predicting the cost savings based on better fuel consumption by using similar but more efficient cars.

Agency Management Tool
During 2008 we launched a web based management system for a nationwide recruitment company. This system allows consultants in 16 offices across the UK to access a central SQL Server database system using web browsers.

The major business benefit of this browser-based system system is that senior management can access dashboard reports and instantly see how the business is performing. This means that action can be taken instantly if targets are not going to be hit, rather than finding out after the event when nothing can be done.

In addition, there are a large number of checks built into the system to ensure that workers, particularly drivers, are complying with working time directives.

New hardware rollout
We have recently upgraded the infrastructure for the CarweB systems.

AMT Data fully manages the infrastructure for the CarweB systems. Currently this is delivering millions of hits each month through our XML Web Service applications, fully load balancing to a number of SQL Server Databases.

In order to add room for expansion during the next couple of years, we have swapped out each of the database servers to add more processing power.

This was done with no impact on the live services. Load testing has shown that any one database server can now carry the whole load of the vehicle lookup system giving a high degree of redundancy, and there is plenty of room for growth over the coming years.
