Â鶹ÊÓƵ

Welcome

Welcome to the Chaplain's Office at Â鶹ÊÓƵ! Our team is here to provide a place of belonging for students to explore, ask questions, and grow in faith. Through worship, relationship building, and vocational reflection, we lead campus rituals that communicate the College's mission and core values. We aspire to foster a sense of inclusive belonging among all the members of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ community. Through engagement with the Chaplain's Office, our goal is to support and develop faithful, authentic people to be a presence of justice and peace on campus and in the world.

Chapel with Dancing Francis

Open

While being rooted in the ELCA faith tradition, Â鶹ÊÓƵ is also open to those of diverse religious and non-religious identities. Â鶹ÊÓƵ is not a "sectarian" institution, where daily worship attendance is required and where faculty, staff and students must sign a "statement of belief." Nor is Â鶹ÊÓƵ a "secular" institution, which has little interest in talking about things of faith. Rather, Â鶹ÊÓƵ honors the distinct Lutheran heritage of a "third path", being both rooted in a particular faith tradition, yet genuinely open and honoring of diverse people, cultures, and beliefs. Â鶹ÊÓƵ is home to students, staff, and faculty of people from a variety of interfaith backgrounds.

Christmas in Christ Chapel
A beloved Â鶹ÊÓƵ tradition to celebrate the nativity. The annual Christmas in Christ Chapel service features the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Choir, Choir of Christ Chapel, Christ Chapel Ringers, Â鶹ÊÓƵ Symphony Orchestra, Lucia Singers, and select members of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Dance Company.

St. Lucia Festival
The Festival of St. Lucia begins the Christmas season in Swedish custom and as a school founded by Swedish immigrants, the Â鶹ÊÓƵ continues this tradition each December.
