As a residential campus, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ places significant emphasis on the experience of students in our residence halls.ÌýCollegiate Fellows are developers of community, assisting diverse individuals to come together to create a respectful and fun residential environment that enhances learning both in and out of the classroom.

In helping students discover identity, diversity, leadership, service, and active citizenship, Collegiate Fellows develop their own skills in communication, leadership, community building, time management, conflict resolution, event planning.ÌýThese all happen side by side with fun, enthusiastic, and supportive co-workers who often become lifelong friends!ÌýCFs receive specialized training throughout their time in Residential Life, and the situations that allow CFs to apply this training are experiences that build character, while they also build resumes.

Collegiate Fellows are leaders who are critically tied to our core values—Excellence, Community, Justice, Service, and Faith. It is a rewarding leadership opportunity that demands a lot, and our most successful CFs are those who find a good match with who we are and what we strive to do in Residential Life. We have created a CF selection process that allows us to find you AND you to find us.Ìý

Minimum Qualifications/Expectations

  • Attend weekly staff meetings during the academic year on Wednesdays from 4-5 p.m.
  • Attend regular (minimum 2 a month) one-on-one meetings with your supervisor
  • Maintain availability, visibility, and accessibility to residents and staff
  • Participate and attend all of the events outlined in the Important Dates section of the working agreement
  • Maintain full-time student status during the Fall and Spring terms
  • Be sophomore or higher in credit standing before the start of the role
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • Be free of academic and disciplinary probation
  • Notify your supervisor of all my involvement in any conduct situations (including citation level offenses)
  • Notify your supervisor of any intended time away from the halls

Join your Hall Council

Hall Council is your opportunity to Lead Where You Live! Each hall community has a Hall Council that is dedicated to enhancing the community experience within the Residence Halls through planning events and advocating for hall improvements. There are elected and non-elected positions.

All residents are encouraged to join Hall Council.

Hall Councils are comprised of a Director, Finance Director, Communications Director, and Community Commissioners. Directors are elected by their peers and Community Commissioners are an open position for any resident and do not require an election or appointment. All residents are encouraged to join Hall Council!

Each Council is advised by an Area Coordinator or Community Coordinator and receives a budget to implement activities, events, and improvement projects.

  • North, Sorensen, and Gibbs Halls form the Complex Council
  • Prairie View, Southwest, and International Center for the PVSWIC Council
  • Rundstom and Uhler partner together to form the RUhler Council
  • Pittman and Sohre partner together to form the Pittman/Sohre Council
     

Hall Council Positions

 

  • Director - leader of the organization, facilitates meetings, meets regularly with advisor, represents HC to RHA
    • Facilitate HC meetings, collaborating with the Advisor to set agenda
    • Follow outlined processes/procedures for elections, appointments, and financial decisions
    • Meet bi-weekly with advisor for one on one leadership meetings
    • Attend RHA meetings, representing their HC
  • Finance Director - manage organization’s budget and fill in for Director as needed
    • Oversee HC budget in collaboration with Advisor
    • Ensure financial procedures are properly followed
    • Maintain financial records within HC google drive
  • Communications Director - maintains meeting minutes, maintains HC social media presence, communicates about HC events/activities
    • Record minutes from HC meetings, maintain them in HC Google Drive
    • Regularly post and monitor all HC social media
    • Follow Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ social media policies
    • Create and distribute information related to HC and events
  • Community Commissioner - non-elected position, representing the residents of any community
    • Regularly attend HC meetings
    • Communicate with residential peers about HC events/activities
    • Seek feedback from residential peers
