Planned and Estate Gifts
A future gift from your estate is a wonderful way to show your support and appreciation for Â鶹ÊÓƵ and its mission while accommodating your own personal, financial, and philanthropic goals. With smart planning, you may be able to make a meaningful gift to the College, provide for loved ones, and reduce the taxable portion of your estate.
For more information, contact Luke Hanson, Director of Planned and Reunion Giving, with any questions at%20%20lukehanson [at] gustavus.edu ( lukehanson[at]gustavus[dot]edu) or (612) 400-4074
for additional information and resources.
The easiest way to arrange for Â鶹ÊÓƵ to receive a future gift from your estate is to list it as a full or partial beneficiary of an IRA, a stock portfolio, or the death benefit of a Life Insurance policy. It’s often possible to update one’s beneficiary designations using an online client portal in a few minutes.
Including Â鶹ÊÓƵ as a beneficiary of a percentage of your estate is a way to make a major gift that costs you nothing today. Gifts like these can be updated or revoked during the donor’s lifetime, if their plans or financial circumstances change.
Many donors have funded Charitable Gift Annuities and Charitable Remainder Trusts by donating appreciated assets and cash to Â鶹ÊÓƵ. A life income gift can be a tax-advantaged way for a donor to use an unneeded asset to support the College, create a stream of income.
Fill out this secure form to notify the Advancement Office that you have arranged for the College to receive a future gift from your estate. This enables the College to ensure it understands your intentions for the future use of the gift, and to recognize you as a member of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Heritage Partnership legacy society.
