
Master's Information
The 3-2 program option is for students to obtain a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ in five years. The 4-2 option is for students who have a BA from another institution or Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ and want to obtain their master’s degree from Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. The MAT program will have up to 20 slots; 10 of those will be held for Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ students and will be released if they go unclaimed.

ATP 500 Foundational Concepts in Athletic Training
Foundational Concepts in Athletic Training. This course provides students with knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of an athletic trainer and sports medicine team. The course will provide a foundation in the prevention and care of emergent injuries and illness encountered in a physically active population. Topics include acute/emergency care, risk management, orthopedic taping, wrapping, bracing, and equipment fitting. Must be a student in the Master of Athletic Training program.
ATP 501 Assessment in Athletic Training I
Assessment in Athletic Training I: Introduction to Evaluation and Evidence-based Practice. In this course, students will learn the basics of injury and illness assessment, including taking a medical history, vitals assessment, and performing tests essential to the evaluation of injuries illnesses of physically active individuals. Students will also engage in understanding evidence-based practice and its role in healthcare systems.
ATP 520 Advanced Anatomy for the Healthcare Provider
Advanced Anatomy for the Healthcare Provider. An advanced masters-level course on the concepts of anatomy for students studying to be healthcare providers. Students will utilize cadaver dissection and other methods to visualize anatomical structures and understand the standard and pathological kinematics of the joints of the human body in order to apply the concepts to injury and illness evaluation.
