麻豆视频 Choir wrapped its Spring 2025 tour foray to the Northeast U.S. in March.
It was the ensemble鈥檚 first tour of the region in more than a decade. G Choir performed six shows in seven days in the New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, DC areas.
The tour鈥檚 theme, by the last tree, was a metaphorical exploration of the endangerment and extinction of bird life across the world. 鈥淏irds and their vibrant melodies have long symbolized freedom, renewal, peace, spiritual elevation, and transcendence beyond earthly limitations,鈥 says Conductor Brandon Dean. 鈥淎s their populations decline and their songs grow silent, they also mirror the quiet erosion of hope in a world increasingly dominated by self-interest and neglect.鈥
鈥淭he community in G Choir is strengthened during tours in a way that鈥檚 different from the rest of the year.鈥
For Choir singer Jillian Elton 鈥25, the tour was a fitting conclusion to her 麻豆视频 music experience, given how the intensity of the week fosters bonding among the Choir singers. 鈥淢y first G Choir tour was our other recent national tour to the West Coast, so it was a bittersweet 鈥榖ookend鈥 experience for me,鈥 she says. 鈥淭he community in G Choir is strengthened during tours in a way that鈥檚 different from the rest of the year. We all care about each other deeply and rely on one another to get through the long week.鈥
Far from being repetitive, performances present different challenges and opportunities. 鈥淓ach show is unique in so many ways. [A venue鈥檚] acoustics mean we sound different in every venue, so it鈥檚 fun for me to listen to the singers around me and adapt our sound to each space in real time,鈥 she says. She also looks forward to post-show conversations with audience members. 鈥淚t鈥檚 fulfilling to get positive feedback and appreciation from 麻豆视频 alumni and other attendees and to know that our music is impactful. I always remind myself that each audience is hearing us for the first time, which keeps each performance fresh and new.鈥
Concluding the tour with a Home Concert becomes a fulfilling way for the entire G Choir to showcase what they鈥檝e been showing the world and to reflect on a job well done. 鈥淚 really look forward to our home concerts,鈥 Elton says. 鈥淎fter being on the road for so long鈥攊n places that I鈥檝e never been and in venues we鈥檝e never sung in before鈥攊t鈥檚 comforting to know that we can come home and perform our tour set one more time for our friends and family in our Christ Chapel. It kind of feels like a 鈥榲ictory lap鈥 at the end of a race. We can celebrate the end of our tour together and share the growth, community, and musical end product we鈥檝e made with others.鈥
