Visiting Instructor in Public Health

Public health is deeply interconnected with community resistance and restoration, as health inequities often stem from historical and systemic oppression. My research, scholarship, and teaching style as a lifelong learner is to be a critical thinker to apply and investigate current public health practices at the service of our communities.

I'm very excited to return to the 鶹Ƶ community to connect with students who are the current and future public health leaders!!

Following my graduation from 鶹Ƶ in 2017 with a Sociology and Anthropology degree, I obtained my Master of Public Health (global health concentration) from St. Catherine University and published multiple peer-reviewed articles investigating cultural practices in the context of health. Over the course of 8 years, I have worked in various roles in both local and state government including the hospital setting.

My teaching philosophy focuses on linking theoretical knowledge to practical applications, promoting critical thinking, and collaborating effectively with community partners to tackle current and emerging public health challenges.

Outside of work, I enjoy my time cooking, gardening, organizing, and doing anything that restores my mind and soul.
