Growing up on a dairy farm in Lac Qui Parle county, I enjoyed country life with my grandpa, parents and 2 older brothers. After high school graduation, I attended Southwest MN State University in Marshall. I met my soon-to-be husband, Dan, there and, following college graduation, we moved to the Mankato area so he could pursue a career in broadcasting. We thought it would be a stop along our life journey but, we found ourselves settled there.

A few years into my work life, I pursued a master's degree in business education and taught at Rasmussen College for about 18 years. Other employment included communications and campus ministry for Hosanna Lutheran Church, Mankato. I've also been a church / worship musician for more than 30 years and continue to serve in that capacity.

Dan and I enjoyed raising our children, and our daughter is now living in St. Peter with her husband and kids. Besides spending time with family, Dan and I take our yellow lab on the Sakatah trail every day--okay, 3 times a day! We are active in all 4 of Minnesota's seasons and enjoy traveling, as the opportunity arises.
