Scanner color correction
Follow this article to scan your documents with an accurate color profile embedded in your scans. In particular this page focuses on using Epson scanners in the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Digital Arts Lab. These scanners and computers have been color corrected with the Eye-One color calibration system.

Open Epson Scan
Open Epson Scan. It is located at Macintosh HD/ Applications/Epson Scan on the computer.
Basic Settings
Open the scanner and lay the item you'd like to scan on the bed of the scanner and then close the lid. Choose Professional Mode from the popup menu at the top of the Epson Scan window. Select a resolution of at least 300 DPI if you are planning on printing the image on paper.
Configuration
Click the Configuration button at the bottom of the Epson Scan window. In the resulting dialog box, choose the Color tab from the top of the window.
ColorSync
Click the ColorSync radio button and select the calibrated scanner profile (i.e. Scanner_10-26-09), from the drop down menu. Click OK.
Preview and Scan
Click the Preview button at the bottom of the Epson Scan window. If the preview scan worked, a sample of the image can be seen in the preview window on the right of the Epson Scan software. Click Scan.
Epson Scan: Save
After clicking Scan in the previous step, a dialog box will appear. Name the file in the prefix box and set the image type. If you want the highest quality scan possible, set the image type to Tiff. Click OK. Save the file to the desired location.
