Loaner Laptop Information for Employees
Who Can Get a Loaner Laptop
Faculty and staff are eligible to loan laptops from the 鶹Ƶ Technology Helpline.
How to Request a Laptop
To request a laptop to loan, please either call the helpline at 507-933-6111 or send an email to the helpline at helpline@gustavus.edu with the following information:
- Name
- Mac or PC
- When you will need the laptop
- How long you will need the laptop
- Are there any special programs that you would like installed
- Any other relevant information that may be necessary to loaning a laptop
Once we have this information, we will check that the machine that you request is available to be loaned out and we will let you know if your request is able to be fulfilled.
Useful Information
- Request a laptop as soon as you know that you want one. We have a limited number of machines, and the sooner we know the better we can accommodate you.
- Make sure to tell us if you need any special software.
- Log into the machine before you leave campus while you are connected to the network. If you don't do this, you won't be able to access your profile off of campus.
- Before you return the loaner machine, double check that all of you data is off of the machine. Once we get them back, we do not back the laptops up, but erase them right away to prepare for the next person to borrow.
