A cascade is a process where a user gets a newer computer complete with the data from the old computer. The user's original computer is used to replace a lower-end system somewhere else on campus. Each system involved in the cascade is imaged and the older machine is backed up. The backed up hard drive is then saved for two-three months. Technology Services cascades both Macintosh and Windows machines for 鶹Ƶ owned-machines only.
