There have been several products released for running virtual machines on the Macintosh. Currently the two most popular manufacturers of this software are VMWare and Parallels.

This article outlines the steps to image a virtual machine with a 鶹Ƶ image under Parallels Desktop 4 and VMWare Fusion 2. These steps do not apply to older versions of these software packages since the new technologies make this process much different than in the past.

This article also assumes that Parallels Desktop 4 or VMWare Fusion 2 are installed properly.
