Motherboard

The motherboard is essentially the brain of a computer. It connects all of the electronic connections to the various components of the computer like the processor, hard drive(s), optical drive, etc. Components are often built into the motherboard, such as memory. Other components, like hard drives or video cards, connect to it using cables or edge connectors.
