Windows Vista is an operating system made by Microsoft Corporation. It was first released publicly in January, 2007 and is the successor to Windows XP, which is one of the most common operating systems used on personal computers today. has a which contains additional general information about the operating system.

Because Windows Vista poses more security risks than other operating systems, such as Mac OS X or Linux, Technology Services requires Windows machines connected to the 鶹Ƶ network to meet the following basic requirements:

  1. Your computer must have the most recent Windows updates.
  2. Your computer must have Symantec Anti-Virus installed and have updated virus definitions. Make sure that you install the Symantec AntiVirus for Vista, other versions will not work.
