Revision as of 12:56, 7 December 2006 by Gmitchel(talk | contribs)(How to Enter Safe Mode)

Safe mode is a diagnostic mode used by computer operating systems. It is used to troubleshoot problems that cannot be fixed in a normal boot. This is done by offering booting only core features to the operating system so that the problem can be found and repaired.

How to Enter Safe Mode

On Microsoft Windows, Safe Mode can be entered by tapping or holding F8 upon booting the computer.

Entering Safe Mode can also be done through the Windows Interface. On Windows XP,

1) Click on the Start button and click on Run.

2) In the Open field type "msconfig" and click OK. Safemode1.gif
