Intro

My name is Daniel Zimmerli and this is a short introduction to who I am and what I like.

I am member of the GTS summer staff 2009 and I was also Senior CA for the 2008 and 2009 school year. Prior to that I was a CA from 2006 to 2009 and a Lab Assistant as a freshman. I am currently pursuing a degree in Math. Outside of �鶹��Ƶ I work for Best Buy as a Geek Squad Agent.

I am an audiophile. My current stereo system consists of two KEF Q5 Floorstanding Speakers powered by a Marantz SR6001 Receiver. My next addition to my system will be a Music Hall mmf5.1 turntable. Everyone knows that vinyl sounds better than digital.

I love my car. I drive a 1996 Chevy B4C Camaro. The B4C Camaro was the police interceptor edition of the Camaro in 1996. Only 228 of them were made. The B4C Camaro is basically a Z28 minus the badges. It has a 5.7 liter V8, high performance single exhaust converter with dual tailpipes, high performance suspension, mechanical water cooler and a limited slip rear axle. I have had it since 10th grade and plan to never get rid of it.

I am also fond of golfing. I played competitively in high school and now just golf for fun. I have been golfing since 7th grade and plan to continue to do so until I can't swing a club anymore.

Stemming from being an audiophile I also listen to a lot of music. I listen to most all genres but stay clear of rap and country music. My favorite band is Guster. I also like Spoon, Box Car Racer, Lily Allen, Sugarcult, Motion City Soundtrack, Cake, The Matches and New Found Glory. There are many, many other artist I enjoy quite thoroughly though far too many to name.

Like most people I enjoy several TV Shows and Movies. My favorite TV show is Dexter and I also enjoy Entourage, How I met your Mother, 30 Rock, It's always Sunny in Philadelphia and Man vs. Wild. As far as movies go I am a huge Star Wars fan. I dislike most of the prequels though I do admit that they have their moments. Other movies I enjoy are Sin City, Boondock Saints, Batman Begins and The Dark Night, Bladerunner, Indiana Jones, and many others.

Finally, I am a bit of a nerd and enjoy the occasional video game. A big part of this nerd stems from wanting to stay connected to my high school friends. Currently I am playing Age of Conan and Quake Live. In the past I have played Diablo 2, Counter Strike: Source, World of Warcraft and Guild Wars amongst many others.

I greatly enjoy working for �鶹��Ƶ both as a CA and as part of the summer staff. Despite being a math major I would like to continue to work for an IT department and will be pursuing a job similar to the User Services jobs at �鶹��Ƶ.
