How to configure the residence hall printer on your personal computer

Open the Printers Control Panel: Start > Settings >Printers and double-click on Add Printer. This will launch the Add Printer Wizard. When asked how the printer is attached to your computer, check Local printer, but uncheck Automatically detect and install my Plug and Play printer. You will see a window like the figure below, asking you to select a printer port.
Check Create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port in the Type field. Hitting Next will launch the Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port Wizard. This wizard will ask for the Printer Name or IP Address and the Port Name. Enter your dorm Printer Name in the Printer Name field. The dorm printer names are listed below. All of the printers are HP LaserJet 4000 Series PS printers manufactured by HP (Hewlett Packard). The drivers can be found on the 鶹Ƶ Windows Downloads , if you don't have them already. Do not share this printer.
