Right click
The term right-click is the act of using the right mouse button instead of the primary and most used left button.
Windows users
Most Windows computers often have a 2-button mouse. Macintosh users may not have a mouse with 2 buttons.
Macintosh users
To right-click, hold the ctrl key and click the mouse. However, if you use a Macintosh and have a Mighty Mouse, click the mouse on the right-hand side.
Function
You may ask why one needs to right-click, oftentimes it is a shortcut to find out more about the item you clicked on or options that you have. Think of the left mouse button as the action or enter key on the mouse, while the right mouse button is a information button.
