SANS Training Overview

Effective April 9, 2019, all 鶹Ƶ employees will be required to complete Security Awareness Training annually. This training will take about 30 min to complete and should be completed during one sitting, but will bookmark where you left off in case you need to complete it at a another time.

Security Awareness Training is an series of online videos and quizzes from SANS, the most trusted and by far the largest source for information security training in the world. The goal of the training is to teach our 鶹Ƶ employees steps to protect themselves and 鶹Ƶ from malicious cyber activity.

Login Information

  1. To access the training materials, review content, and to complete all of your assignments, please navigate to this URL: .
  2. Your username is your full 鶹Ƶ email address (example: jdoe@gustavus.edu)

Setting up your password

  1. Click the link to access the SANS training:
  2. Click I forgot my password.

  1. Type in your 鶹Ƶ email address and click continue

  1. Open GusMail and look for the email from access@sans.org.
  2. Open the email and click the link in the email.

  1. It will take you to the SANS reset password page.
  2. Type in the new password, making sure to follow the instructions.
  3. 'Confirm password and click change.
