A browser cache is a feature built into web browsers that caches web documents in order to reduce bandwidth usage, server load, and perceived "lag".

Clearing browser cache

Firefox 3

To clear your browser cache in the latest version of Mozilla Firefox, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to Tools--> Clear Private Data
  2. Or, hit Ctrl+Shift+Del

To clear your browser cache in Mozilla Firefox, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to Tools-->Options.
  2. In options, click on the "privacy" icon.
  3. Under "Private Data", click "Clear Now".
  4. Click "Clear Private Data Now".

Google Chrome

To clear your browser cache in Google Chrome, perform the following steps:

  1. Click Chrome at the top left of the screen
  2. Select **"Clear browsing data..."**
  3. Make sure **"Empty the cache"** is checked
  4. Select a time period from the "Clear data from this period" drop-down box
  5. Click the **"Clear Browsing Data"** button

Internet Explorer 7

To clear your browser cache in Internet Explorer 7, perform the following steps:

  1. Go to Tools-->Internet Options.
  2. In the "General" tab in the "Browsing history" section:
  3. Click "Delete."
  4. Click "Delete files", then click "Yes."
  5. Click "Delete cookies", then click "Yes."
  6. Click "Close."
