In order for GoLive to make a successful ftp connection to upload files to the web server, you need to turn off the firewall protection on a Macintosh. To do so, follow these steps:
- Open the System Preferences, located under the Apple Menu > System Preferences
- Open up the Sharing preference, located in the Internet & Network section of the Preferences.
- Click on the Firewall tab, located in the middle of the window between Services and Internet. Click on the Stop button to turn off the firewall. Close System Preferences.
You have now turned off the firewall protection and will be able to upload files via ftp in GoLive to the web server. To turn the firewall protection back on. Repeat the process, but click the Start button instead.
