There are many reasons to adjust your machine's sleep and hibernate settings. Settings are operating system and machine specific.

Windows Computers

  • From the Start Menu, select Control Panels
  • View by Small Icon
  • Select Power Options
  • Select Change when computer goes to sleep
  • Set Put the computer to sleep to Never

Macintosh Computers

  • System Preferences
  • Energy Saver menu
  • Adjust for Battery and Power Adapter modes
  • If you would like the computer to never go to sleep, please check the button that says "Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off" and uncheck "Put hard disks to sleep when possible".
