Who Can Get a Loaner Laptop

Faculty and staff are eligible to participate in the loaner laptop program from Technology Services.

How to Request a Laptop

To request a loaner laptop, please either call the helpline at 507-933-6111 or send an email helpline@gustavus.edu with the following information:

  • Your Name
  • Your email username
  • When you will need the laptop
  • How long you will need the laptop (limit 1 week)
  • Any special programs that you would like installed
  • Any other relevant information

Once you have submitted a request, you will be notified by email regarding the status of your request.

Additional Information

  • Request Early - We have a limited inventory of machines, the sooner we know, the better the chance we have of accommodating your request
  • Pick up and Drop Off - You can pick up your loaner laptops anytime after 8 am on the first day or your reservation. We expect them to be returned before 4:30 on the last day or your reservation. Please pick up and return to the Technology Service main office located on the first floor of Olin Hall.
  • Specialized Software or Needs - Please tell us if you need any special software or unique requests.
  • Try it Out - If you are planning to use the laptop away from campus, please be sure to log into the machine before you leave campus while the laptop is connected to the network. If you don't do this, your log in will be unsuccessful off campus.
  • Fees and Charges - There is currently no charge for the use of one of the Loaner Laptops.
  • Lost, Damaged or Missing Equipment - Failure to return any equipment, including the computer sleeve and power adapter, will result in your department being billed for the missing equipment.
