You will need Adobe Acrobat Pro if:
- you are merging PDFs on a Windows computer
- you are creating fillable PDFs
- using security settings such as encrypting PDFs
You can use Adobe Reader or MacOS Preview:
- to fill PDFs
- to view PDFs
- MacOS Preview can merge PDFs
OCR PDFs
- Open the PDF file from the File menu
- Click on Tools
- Click on Text Recognition
- Click in this file, or in multiple files to do more than one PDF at a time.
