A gigabyte or GB is a unit of information or computer storage equal to approximately one billion bytes or 1000 megabytes.
Gigabyte is commonly abbreviated as GB. Not to be confused with Gb, used for gigabits.
At Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, students are allowed 1GB of data storage on their home directory. For e-mail you are allowed 250MB which is a quarter of a gigabyte.
