Soup and Sandwich Seminar: Integration at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ by Bruce Gray '61October 23, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Presenter Bruce Gray '61 is the former Dean of Students and associate in the Office of Advancement. He is also the author of Black and Bold: A History of African-American Students at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. Bruce and his wife Sue recently received the Greater Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ Award, which goes to those "who by deed, have notably advanced and aided Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. e/p>
Bruce will share about his time at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, and his time post-Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ writing and researching his new book. The book salutes the African-American students while it tells of their trials, tribulations and triumphs as they pursued their degrees. Through Gray, we hear their voices and discover what the students accomplished once they left "The Hill. eMany of them chose this opportunity to declare, "Bruce and Sue Gray were the best friends and mentors that we could have had. e/p>
