MSI Global Community Portal
MSI Global expand their service to offer a rich Web 2.0 Community Portal with the primary aim of promoting networking between members and groups.
“AMT Data Technologies are a pleasure to work with – I appreciate their transparent way of working, the quality of their work, and their willingness to go the extra mile when it comes to supporting our web platform. We are quite a demanding client based in London and find the flexibility, value for money and friendliness offered by the AMT team very refreshing.”
System Overview
The MSI Global website was a Directory listing members and companies. It was linked to Pivotal CRM in the MSI Global UK offices and had some basic Content Management facilities.
Having taken over the site in early 2008 AMT Data developed a bespoke Community Portal Platform for the site. Additional fields were added to the site database and CRM. A modular approach was taken to add an advanced search facility, member invite system, membership ‘Groups’ including a ‘Shout Board’, key staff blogs and member relationship management.
Feeds were added to various places to enable users who were short on time to view a precis overview of what their member groups and colleagues had been posting.
So that members were not tied to storing favourites and bookmarks on just one computer, a full favourites, recent search store and recent pages visited store was added against each member login allowing members to retrieve historical information easily from anywhere in the world.
A full program of Search Engine Optimisation included keyword addition to member and company profiles and URL rewriting to generate search engine friendly URL’s.
The site was launched at the Bejing Annual Conference in November 2008 and already has several new developments planned.
