==Trouble-shooting Robo-Sensei==
Here are some basic tips for trouble-shooting problems with Robo-Sensei

===Problems opening Robo-Sensei===
Double-click on the Robo-Sensei icon in the Applications folder to launch the program. When trying to open Robo-sensei for the first time, users may need to double click on the program twice: once to open Firefox, and once to launch the application. If the program still does not open, try opening it with [[Safari]], the other web-browser on lab Macs. If the program still won't open, contact the center assistant or [[Alison Sommer|Culpeper Director]].

===Program opens, but exercises are blank===
If you open the program successfully, but find that when you click on an exercise nothing loads, the first thing to try is to re-load the page and wait. The program uses Java Applets, which can take some time to load and can get stuck if you click too many times. If it still does not load, try the other browser (if you are using Firefox, try Safari, and vice-versa.) If the program still won't run properly, contact the center assistant or [[Alison Sommer|Culpeper Director]].

===How do I input Japanese kana?===
To use the Japanese inputs, click on the American flag on the top-right part of the computer screen and scroll down to ''あ Hiragana''. The Hiragana should then appear as you type. Here are a few other tips for using this input method:
*To get '''kanji''', type the word in hiragana, then hit the space bar. The first choice of kanji should appear. If this is not the Kanji you want, hit the space bar again and a list of possible kanji will appear, arrow down to the one you want then hit the enter/return key.
*To get '''katakana''', hold down the shift key as you type, or go back up to the input menu and choose ''カ Katakana''.
*To get the particle o (を）type "wo" (typing the letter o will get you お).
*To get a "small tsu/ya/yo/yu", type double letters, as you would in romanji (ex: matte = まって, kyo = きょ)

==Equipment==
The Culpeper Language Center computer lab currently contains 25 [[Macintosh]]-based computers, one Epson scanner, one[HP Laserjet 4100 printer, a digital projector, DVD player, VCR and media cart containing a television, international VCR and DVD player. The Center's [[international television and DVD viewing station]] is currently under construction, but will soon contain a 42 inch LCD flat screen TV, connected to an region-free DVD player, multi-region VCR, and DISH Network receiver. The Culpeper's DISH Network subscription includes international programing for Spanish, German, French, Russian and Japanese. The Center's [[media development station]] includes two [[ReplayTV|ReplayTVs]], and three [[DISH Network|DISH]] receivers, an international VCR, DVD, and MiniDV dubbing system as well as a [[Macintosh]] computer containing media editing programs such as [[iMovie]] and [[IDvd|iDVD]], as well as an iSight webcam and microphone for video/audio chatting and pod/vod-casting.

==Using VideoCue in the Library==
*Sit down, log into the computer, position the iSight to your liking, and click start.

*When you are done, hit ''stop''. The program will then ask if you would like to view the video, re-do the video, or save the video.
*When you are satisfied with the product, choose to save the video. The program will then automatically save it to a web folder and e-mail you the link. With that link you can view, share, or download the video.

==Using VideoCue in the Culpeper Center==
*VideoCue is currently only available on the Media Development Station computer in the Culpeper Center.

To choose a show to record click on the '''TV Listings''' tap along the top of the window. It should then open a window which looks like this:

If instead channels and programs the TV Listings is completely blank that means you still need to set up your station listings. Under '''Provider/Line-up Selection''' it should say '''Zip/Postal Code: 56082''' and '''Primary Lineup: DISH, Minneapolis'''. If it does not say that you will need to click on the '''Change Zip/Provider''' and enter that information.

Once you have the correct Zip and Provider chosen you may choose which channels you want to have in your TV listing. Click on the '''Add/Remove Channels''' button. A box will pop up with a list of all channels provided by that carrier. Check the boxes next to the channels you wish to see, then click '''Close'''. To record a show, go to the TV Listing section, click on a show you want to record and then click the '''Schedule''' button. When you do this it will open a new window. In this window you will choose which Replay to record on (either is fine, but you must choose one) either Culpeper1 or Culpeper2. Once you have chosen a ReplayTV you then should choose which language folder the program will be saved in. Please take the time to do this! It makes everything much more organized.

The Culpeper Language Center computer lab currently contains 25 [[Macintosh]]-based computers, one Epson scanner, one[HP Laserjet 4100 printer, a digital projector, DVD player, VCR and media cart containing a television, international VCR and DVD player. The Center's [[international television and DVD viewing station]] is currently under construction, but will soon contain a 42 inch LCD flat screen TV, connected to an region-free DVD player, multi-region VCR, and DISH Network receiver. The Culpeper's DISH Network subscription includes international programing for Spanish, German, French, Russian and Japanese. The center consists of a [[Macintosh]]-based computer lab and multimedia classroom, a [[media development station]], a [[international television and DVD viewing station]], a reading/studying lounge, and the office of the [[Alison Sommer|Culpeper Center]].

The Culpeper center is maintained by the [[Alison Sommer|Culpeper Director]] and is staffed by approximately a dozen [[Culpeper student employees]]. All members of the Culpeper staff are trained to support all the equipment in the labs, with specific focus on the computer programs most heavily used by the [[Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures]]

The Culpeper Language Center is funded by the ''Culpeper Foundation'' and the ''Barbara Osher Foundation'' for the study of foreign languages.

==Equipment==
The Culpeper Language Center computer lab currently contains 25 [[Macintosh]]-based computers, one Epson scanner, one[HP Laserjet 4100 printer, a digital projector, DVD player, VCR and media cart containing a television, international VCR and DVD player. The Center's [[international television and DVD viewing station]] is currently under construction, but will soon contain a 42 inch LCD flat screen TV, connected to an region-free DVD player, multi-region VCR, and DISH Network receiver. The Culpeper's DISH Network subscription includes international programing for Spanish, German, French, Russian and Japanese. The Center's [[media development station]] includes two [[ReplayTV|ReplayTVs]], and three [[DISH Network|DISH]] receivers, an international VCR, DVD, and MiniDV dubbing system as well as a [[Macintosh]] computer containing media editing programs such as [[iMovie]] and [[iDVD]], as well as an iSite webcam and microphone for video/audio chatting and pod/vod-casting.
