====Step One: Register the Mac====
Before you unbox the Mac, register the Mac in GReg and update Filemaker.

====Step Two: Create the User====
Plug in network and power. Power on the Mac and follow the on screen prompts. When creating the user enter their name and use their �鶹��Ƶ username for the ‘Account name:’ field. Use ‘changeme’ as the password.

====Step Three: Updates====
Once you’ve completed the Setup Assistant the Mac desktop will appear. Shortly thereafter Managed Software Center will open and begin downloading updates. When updates have finished downloading click the install button in Managed Software Center.

Note: Enterprise Connect will open during while Managed Software Center is running. You can close out of it.

====Step Four: Universal Cascade Letter====
Customize (replace the items in bold italic that are placeholders) and print a [[Mac New Employee Letter]] for each user user.

Faculty and staff are eligible to loan laptops from the �鶹��Ƶ Technology Helpline.

== How to Request a Laptop ==
To request a laptop to loan, please either call the helpline at 507-933-6111 or send an email to the helpline at helpline@gustavus.edu with the following information:

*Name
*Mac or PC
*When you will need the laptop
*How long you will need the laptop
*Are there any special programs that you would like installed
*Any other relevant information that may be necessary to loaning a laptop

Once we have this information, we will check that the machine that you request is available to be loaned out and we will let you know if your request is able to be fulfilled.
