AREAS OF TEACHING INTEREST Marketing Organizational Behavior Marketing Research Personnel/Human Resource Management International/Cross-Cultural Management PUBLICATIONS/PRESENTATIONS/SERVICE PRESENTATIONS I will divide this into two areas: pre-鶹Ƶ efforts drawing from my dissertation and connections with Houston colleagues. The second area will summarize professional activities emerging and continuing at 鶹Ƶ. The first area reflected articles and proceeding papers/presentations drawing from my dissertation and interest in job design. For some time, a driving interest in the area of organizational behavior was on the match of congruence between an individual and the design of their job or potential job. Then, my specific focus added group dimensions to that equation. With colleagues, articles appeared in The Academy of Management Journal, Handbook of Organizational Management and, Human Resources Planning. Success there also led to several proceedings papers in Decision Sciences, The Association of Business Simulation and Experiential Learning, and The Academy of Management. 鶹Ƶ allowed me to widen my horizons by adding an international focus, an enhanced commitment to student/faculty research, and essentially shifted by direction to marketing and marketing research. This was done in a manner consistent with the Colleges goal of involving students in active research agendas. Outcomes here include: Presentations in Sweden and the United States on such topics as the Swedish Social Welfare System, European and Scandinavian harmonization created by European Union directives, and helping students make sense of other cultures via numerous study abroad programs. In additional, I have built a highly successful, very hands-on, marketing research course for seniors. Student teams engage with a regional organization (the client) who is in need of meaningful market answers or understandings drawn from student projects. The positives here are considerable for students and their employment prospects and for 鶹Ƶ in terms of community outreach and service. Recent clients and projects include: Mayo Clinic, Rochester and Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Mankato. The Rochester projects draws on support from the Medtronic Foundation.
