Peace Conference wi ll explore how work has changed in the face of societal and technological c hange and how workers have responded to the forces that shape their labor. \n“MAYDAY!” is the international distress signal used to indicate life -threatening emergencies. May Day (May 1st) is also International Workers Day\, honoring workers and commemorating the efforts of labor movements aro und the world. \nThis year’s topic of labor is in honor of late History professor Greg Kaster\, who served as the MAYDAY! Conference panel moderato r in 2022 and whose research and teaching interests included labor history and the rhetoric of masculinity and labor in the 19th century.\nThe MAYDAY! Peace Conference was created to inspire attendees to work for justice and peace throughout the world. Starting in 2023\, the conference follows a "te ach-in" model. This format is designed to learn more about a complex and cu rrent topic from a variety of perspectives.
