The Anderson Scholarship recognizes students of promise in the fields of dance and/or theatre. The scholarship is awarded by audition and interview to students who have significant potential in the areas of study offered by the Department of Theatre and Dance.Ìý

To Apply

Students may apply for the Theatre and Dance Scholarship after applying for admission and receiving access to their . For full consideration, apply for the theatre and dance scholarship by the Priority Deadline of November 8. If you apply after receiving a financial aid offer, your overall offer may be adjusted. Ìý

To Audition
Ìý
All auditions will take place virtually. Please ensure your entire body is visible in your recorded auditions.
Acting/Directing Applicants:
Your recorded audition should include:
- Two monologues from any genre.
Dance Applicants: The department strongly prefers instrumental music only (music without lyrics).
Your recorded audition should include:
- Solo, 2-minutes in length, in any form or style
- Improvisation, 45-60 seconds in length
- Learn and perform to the best of your ability dance combination. for reference.
Technical Theatre Applicants: Upload 1-3 examples of your work (this can include plans, drafts, photos, or programs).

To Maintain
Ìý
Anderson Scholars are required to participate in the activities of the theatre and dance department each year they are on campus and enrolled in courses. Requirements are as follows:
1. A course with the T/D designation is required for one semester of each year a student holds the scholarship.
2. Participation in one faculty-directed production, either backstage or on stage, is required each year.
3. Numbers 1 and 2 above may take place in the same semester if desired. However, the two requirements do notÌýhave to be done in one semester. If preferred, a student can fulfill one requirement in the fall and one in the spring semester. They are each required once per year.
Students do not need to major within the department to qualify for or maintain the scholarship.
